PRESIDENTS
The President is appointed for a period of 5 years. He is appointed based on the will of the Sri Lankans. He is the one who looks after the entire Sri Lanka.

PRIME MINISTERS
The person who receives the highest number of votes after the President becomes the Prime Minist er. The vote is cast by the Sri Lankans. The Prime Minister also performs his duties in the absence of the President.
SPEAKERS
The party that receives the most votes elects a speaker to the parliament. He or she presides over the parliament. He or she can hold office for five years.
